Poultry Technician, FAI Farms, Oxford - Immediate Start circa £18k

FAI Farms Ltd is at the forefront of animal welfare research and is undertaking a 5 year project into selective breeding of broiler chickens to enhance standards of bird welfare.

Duties will include husbandry of breeders and broilers, feeding, bedding-up, catching and assistance in the hatchery. You will collect field data, weigh and assess chickens and work closely with the researchers on the breeding selection process. You will be required to work every other weekend with an agreed team rota.

Previous experience of animal husbandry and an interest in welfare and research is preferred. This is an opportunity to join a progressive and high profile farming and research operation. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in poultry husbandry and the skills needed to play an active role in the scientific aspects of the job.
