Sheep
The 1,000-head breeding flock is largely Mules, a traditional British ewe, and Coopworths, a New Zealand breed selected for hardiness, worm tolerance, good feet, and ease of lambing. The females are crossed with pure Coopworth males and Suffolks, the famous native British breed easily recognised with its jet black face. Again we farm a simple system, paying close attention to the animals’ natural needs and try to interfere as little as possible.

The ewes lamb outside in April giving a crop of lambs that are ready to market from October onwards.
