FAI works to help the food and farming sectors to develop a 3e business model. Integrating environmental, economic and ethical strategies strengthens investment decisions and drives sustainable progress.

We work with private sector companies, NGO’s, regulators and centres of scientific excellence to develop practical solutions and build the investment case to drive progress on critical issues such as animal welfare, land use and climate change.

The issues facing our food chain provide a global challenge and effect us all. We are working with key partners on programmes in Europe, the US, Brazil and China.

Our commercial farming division is based at the Oxford University farm where cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry and arable crops are produced to low input, high welfare standards. The farm runs to 505 hectares and includes Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

Partnering with The Zoology Department of The University of Oxford and other scientific institutions around the world, commissioned development projects set out to prove sound evidence in creating high welfare production systems.

Through a partnership with FACT (Farm Animal Care Trust) the Outdoor Classroom delivers education programmes for primary and secondary school children, and farm based projects for those individuals with special educational needs.
